Spit Mark II part II

Piglet and spit doing very nicely, doesn't half consume some wood though!

Mark 2 Spit

This is our second attempt at a home made spit.

Two fence posts bashed in as usual with 125mm nails alternate sides and varying heights for good luck, hopefully this will be up to the 8kg weaner that's going on it later.

Spit is a 3M length of green hazel with the bark stripped minimum diameter is about 45mm. Last time we used ash about 25-30mm for a similar size pig and it broke at the thin end.

Bury Castle

Managed a walk out to Bury Castle, a celtic hill-top fort just outside Cardinham.

You can see both North and South coasts of Cornwall from there
